Dusty Baker has been around Major League Baseball in some capacity for the better part of the last six decades, but now the 74-year-old skipper is ready to call it a career. Last week, the Houston Astros manager announced his retirement from what is certain to be a Hall of Fame career. Baker won a World Series as both a player and manager, was the NLCS MVP in 1981, a two-time all-star, a three-time NL Manager of the Year, won a Gold Glove and is often credited with being the inventor of the high-five. As for what’s next, Baker is open to a front office role with Houston and finished up his statement by saying, “This isn’t a goodbye, it’s simply a see you later.”
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. As a manager, Baker led three teams to World Series berths in the 21st century, culminating with an Astros championship in 2022. So with that in mind, how many of the managers of the World Series teams from the 21st century can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
