The 2023 MLB winter meetings are underway, and while there are several attractive free agents and trade candidates available, much of the focus will be on Shohei Ohtani. The two-time MVP is the best player in all of baseball, the type of player who rarely makes it to the free market, let alone in his prime. That’s why he is expected to break the bank wherever he signs. As far as realistic suitors go, the most recent report had four teams still in the running for the 29-year-old’s services. Another report has Ohtani making his decision soon, possibly this week. Just another reason baseball fans will be waiting with bated breath for any news coming out of Nashville over the next few days. Stay tuned.
