Rangers Select Shaun Anderson, Transfer Max Scherzer To 60-Day Injured List

The Rangers announced that right-hander Shaun Anderson has been selected to their roster. Fellow righty Jack Leiter was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. To open a spot on the 40-man roster, Max Scherzer was transferred to the 60-day IL. His 60-day count is retroactive to his initial IL placement, meaning he will be eligible to be reinstated in a couple of weeks. Jeff Wilson of Rangers Today was among those to relay on X, prior to the official announcement, that Anderson was with the club.
